Vietnam praises progress in human rights

(VOVworld) – 14 countries including Russia and Cuba have seen progress in protecting and promoting human rights. This was agreed by Vietnamese Ambassador Nguyen Trung Thanh, Head of the Vietnamese delegation to the UN and the WTO, and other representatives of UN members at the 16th session of the UN Human Rights Council on Universal Periodic Review (UPR), which concluded today in Geneva.

Thanh acknowledged the human right achievements that Bangladesh, Cameroon, and Azerbaijan gained in the past 4 years, and proposed measures for reaching the common goal -the full enjoyment of human rights in the spirit of the Universal Periodic Review.
