The PM said establishing FTZs is a new undertaking for Vietnam and must be implemented with both feasibility and high effectiveness. The pilot model aims to to test new policies and contribute to socio-economic development, serving both immediate and long-term objectives, he said.
“As a pilot model, it should operate within a defined timeframe, but its mechanisms and policies must be distinctive, superior, competitive, and feasible. We should learn from international experience. FTZs’ organizational structure must be streamlined, with stronger decentralization and reinforced supervision and inspection,” said PM Chinh.
Later the same day, the PM chaired another meeting on mechanisms and policies for the development of a national oil refining and energy center at the Dung Quat Economic Zone in Quang Ngai province.
