(VOVWORLD) - The 6-member Vietnamese team finished third at the 58th International Mathematical Olympiad with 6 medals, including 4 golds, the organizing board announced on Saturday. This is the highest ranking Vietnam has ever reached at such a competition.

Gold medalist Hoang Huu Quoc Huy from Ba Ria-Vung Tau province was named one of the three best performers at the contest.
Students from 112 countries compete in the event, which closes in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on Sunday.
