(VOV) – Vietnam will do its best to further Vietnamese – Russian ties in all fields including national defence.

At a reception for visiting Russian Minister of Defence, Sergei Shoygu, on Tuesday in Hanoi, State President Truong Tan Sang spoke highly of the results of the talks between Sergei Shoygu and his Vietnamese counterpart, General Phung Quang Thanh, saying that the visit would help to boost multi-faceted cooperation between the two countries. Mr. Sang expressed his hope that in his new position as Russian Minister of Defence, Sergei Shoygu, would bolster national defence cooperation between Vietnam and Russia. For his part, Minister Sergei Shoygu, said that he would work hard to implement the cooperative agreements in the areas of the military and military technologies already agreed between the two countries.
