During his meeting with Prime Minister Mark Carney, PM Chinh called on Canada to enhance cooperation and support Vietnam in aviation, energy, and civil nuclear training, as well as provide more scholarships for Vietnamese students. The two leaders agreed to make economic, trade, and investment cooperation a key pillar of the Vietnam–Canada relationship, leveraging complementarities between the two economies and the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP).

PM Chinh and President Lula da Silva agreed to soon launch and conclude negotiations on a Preferential Trade Agreement (PTA) between Vietnam and the Southern Common Market (MERCOSUR). They were committed to boosting agricultural cooperation, especially in coffee production and export. President Lula noted that Brazil is expediting domestic procedures to formally recognize Vietnam’s market economy status.
