Mr. Chinh is visiting South Africa for the G20 Summit and bilateral engagements.

The two leaders agreed to promptly develop an action plan to operationalize the new partnership, aiming to make Vietnam-South Africa cooperation a model among Global South countries.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to deepening economic and investment ties and will immediately establish a working group to promote market access for each other’s goods.

The leaders also agreed to continue negotiations and soon conclude agreements on double-taxation avoidance, visa exemptions for holders of ordinary passports, and cooperation in crime prevention.

Vietnam and South Africa will maintain close coordination and strengthen mutual support at multilateral forums, they noted.
