A guest speaker, Chairman Man said that countries around the world are facing a paradox. While civilization, science, technology, and human progress have advanced to an unprecedented level, the world has been experiencing the most complex conflicts and crises since the Cold War.
He emphasized that peace is not merely the absence of war but also encompasses respect, love, and sharing among nations and peoples. It is about empathy for every individual, regardless of race, religion, or ethnicity.
Having endured numerous wars for national independence and reunification, Vietnam treasures peace, stability, and friendship, which are essential for every citizen to enjoy independence, freedom, prosperity, and happiness, according to Chairman Man.
“Vietnam supports efforts to resolve international conflicts and disputes through peaceful means,” he said. “To build peace, the first step is to promote mutual understanding and narrow the differences between countries and nations.”
It is also crucial to work together to foster sustainable and inclusive development, address the root causes of poverty and inequality, respect international law, and promote the central role of the UN, the Vietnamese top legislator noted.
