During a meeting on Tuesday in the US with Vietnamese Ambassador Ha Kim Ngoc, Mr. Feldman said the delegation will meet with officials from the Vietnamese Government, ministries and sectors, and work with local businesses and partners. He added the Council believes in cooperation and investment opportunities in Vietnam and contributes to celebrating the 25th anniversary of Vietnam-US diplomatic ties.

On Monday, the Vietnamese Embassy in the US and a delegation from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development worked with officials from the US Department of Agriculture and the Office of the Trade Representative on how to promote bilateral trade and agriculture cooperation.

In exchange for Vietnam buying more US agricultural products such as pork, soybeans and corn, the Vietnamese delegation asked the US to create more favorable conditions for Vietnam’s farm produce like grapefruits, mangos and lychees to enter the US market, and to recognise an irradiation facility in Vietnam’s northern region.

US firms praised the investment and business environment in Vietnam, and said they expect Vietnam to respond effectively to challenges such as Covid-19.
