Vietnam, US reopen adoption program

(VOVworld) – A group of US senators have been in Vietnam, a part of their Asia-Pacific trip, to discuss with relevant authorities child welfare system, during which they agreed to resume intercountry adoption program.

During the 3-day visit, Head of the US delegation, Senator for Louisiana Mary Landrieu attended a press briefing on Wednesday where he said the US senators value Vietnam’s efforts in renovating child welfare system and adoption process. Vietnam has approved and is implementing new laws, resolutions, and circulars on child adoption.
