Vietnam wins big at 4th International Olympiad of Metropolises

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnamese students won three gold, three silver and two bronze medals at the 4th International Olympiad of Metropolises which concluded on Friday in Moscow, Russia.

The medalists are students from the Hanoi Amsterdam High School for the Gifted. They pocketed gold medals in informatics and chemistry; silver medals in mathematics and physics; and bronze medals in mathematics and informatics.

They also earned a silver cup in the blitz-contest, an independent competition that requires each team to solve 80 tasks in two hours. The Vietnamese delegation finished second at the competition.

The Olympiad of Metropolises is an annual international team competition held in Moscow for 14-18 year-old students to show their knowledge of physics, chemistry, mathematics and informatics. This year’s event drew 45 teams from 32 countries and territories worldwide.
