At a meeting with Vietnamese Ambassador to Australia Pham Hung Tam in Australia on Tuesday, Watts said he hopes to see economic, trade, and investment cooperation between the two countries develop on a par with the new stature of the relationship, adding that Vietnam is a priority partner in Australia’s Southeast Asia Economic Strategy to 2040.

Ambassador Tam said that this year Vietnam will send many delegations to Australia to promote trade and investment.

He also made specific proposals to bolster bilateral collaboration in economy, trade, investment, people-to-people exchanges, education, and training human resources in semiconductors and other trending areas.
