At the meeting, Cuong said the MPLA delegation’s visit offers a chance for the two Parties’ leaders to exchange views on the bilateral ties and cooperation orientations, along with the international situation, helping to consolidate and tighten the friendship and traditional cooperation between the two Parties and countries.

He affirmed that ample room remains for the two countries to strengthen their cooperation and suggested the two Parties focus on instructing the implementation of cooperation agreements signed by Vietnam and Angola.

Secretary in charge of the MPLA's foreign affairs Manuel Domigos Augusto, head of the delegation, applauded Vietnam’s reform achievements, and hailed it as an active and responsible member of the international community, with marked contributions to peace and stability in the region and the world.

He appreciated cooperation outcomes between the two Parties over the past time, and noted his hope to learn more from Vietnam’s experience in national development, ensuring social justice, and improving the country’s role and position in the international arena.

The official suggested the two Parties work harder to consolidate the traditional relations, and promote practical, intensive and extensive collaboration, particularly in economy, trade, investment, agriculture, and education.

Earlier the same day, Secretary of the CPV Central Committee and Chairman of its Commission for External Relations Le Hoai Trung held talks with the MPLA delegation, during which they agreed to tighten the relations between the two Parties, creating a firm political foundation for the multi-faceted cooperation between Vietnam and Angola.
