Vietnamese celebrate Tet in France

(VOVworld) - The Vietnamese People’s Association of France (UGVF) celebrated the Lunar New Year at UNESCO headquarters in Paris on Saturday.

The event was attended by Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Tuan Anh and a large number of overseas Vietnamese in France. At the ceremony, the UGVF Secretary General and new executive committee extended New Year greetings to all Vietnamese residents living in France. Henry Dang, in charge of foreign affairs for the UGVF, said: "2013 witnessed the signing of a strategic partnership between the two countries and the France Year in Vietnam. This year we expect to see more progress in bilateral relations following the recent opening of the Vietnam Year in France. The Vietnamese community in France is very proud of Vietnam’s remarkable achievements and will stay side by side with our compatriots to overcome possible challenges."

Participants enjoyed a special Vietnamese art program, calligraphy writing, and chess playing and travel agencies introduced special tourism packages.
