Addressing the opening ceremony, Vice Chairwoman of the Da Nang People's Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi called the festival an important diplomatic event for the city. The festival will expand to tourism promotion, investment, economic cooperation, information dissemination, product promotion, and cultural, arts, sports, and culinary exchanges, she said.

“This year marks the beginning of a new phase in development with promising prospects for the Vietnam-Japan relationship after the two nations recently elevated their relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for Peace and Prosperity in Asia and the World. We are very happy that the number of Japanese localities participating in this year's festival is much higher than in previous years,” she said.

The event was attended by Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam Ito Naoki, who said he hopes the festival will be an opportunity for young Vietnamese to learn more about Japan.

The festival features 85 stalls displaying products of leading Vietnamese and Japanese businesses – Acecook, Honda, Mikazuki Resorts and Spa, Toyota, Da Nang’s OCOP products, and many others.

There will be also sports and arts exchanges featuring many activities for the first time – Japanese baseball, Bon Odori dance, bamboo dance, Japanese tea ceremony, Vietnamese tea culture, and more.

The Vietnam-Japan Festival 2024 will end on Sunday.
