(VOVWORLD) -Authorized by the UN Missions in South Sudan (UNMISS), Vietnam's Level 2 Field Hospital Rotation 6 conducted a charity trip to Unity State Prison (Bentiu Central Prison) on Monday.
The delegation delivered medical care to prisoners and prison staff, offered physical examinations and health consultations, and dispensed medications. They also evaluated the prison’s medical facilities, and made recommendations to improve hygiene, nutrition, and disease-prevention measures.
The hospital hosted a training session for the prison's medical personnel and officers, covering basic first aid techniques, emergency response protocols, infectious disease prevention, and environmental sanitation. The operation earned high praise from both UNMISS and local authorities.
Major Phichayathida, the UN’s civil-military coordination officer, said: "Today we come to donate many things from Vietnam’s Level 2 Hospital to the Bentiu state prison. I’m very appreciative of all the support and coordination from Vietnam. You do a lot for us and thank you so much."
This activity testifies to the Vietnamese peacekeeping force’s responsibility, professionalism, and compassion, strengthens its relationship with the local authorities, enhance Vietnam’s image as a peace-loving, compassionate nation, and demonstrates its readiness to contribute to the shared interests of the international community.
