(VOV) - The south central province of Binh Thuan will host Vietnam’s first ever international hot air balloon festival on Vietnam's 67^th National Independence Day, on September 2^nd.

: "This year’s festival is aimed at entertaining rather than a competing. Balloons will be anchored to poles on the ground. This year will be about  showing off  unusual balloons for the entertainment of the visitors. We hope to make the festival an annual event".

At a press conference today in Hanoi, the organizing board said the event will gather more than 50 balloonists from 14 countries from Asia and Europe. The highlight of the festival will be a fireworks display on September 2^nd. Do Van Ba is Deputy Head of Binh Thuan province’s Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism

The program will include performances of model airplanes and kite flying.
