Speaking at the first meeting of the National Steering Committee for Wastefulness Prevention and Control in Hanoi on Tuesday, PM Chinh acknowledged progress in tackling wastefulness but noted that significant challenges remain.

He reaffirmed that combating wastefulness is a national responsibility, one that requires the entire political system and all citizens to engage in continuous, unrelenting efforts. It must be integrated into broader efforts to restructure the administrative apparatus, streamline procedures, and enhance the efficiency of the political system.

PM Chinh stressed that wastefulness prevention must go hand in hand with economic growth, inflation control, and strategic breakthroughs in science, technology, digital transformation, and innovation.

He ordered a review of prolonged, inefficient projects and urged the adoption of smart governance and digital transformation across all sectors, particularly in land management, public finance, and resource management, to prevent wastefulness and improve overall efficiency.
