(VOVworld)- The Quan Doi Nhan Dan (People’s Army) newspaper and the Government’s Steering Committee for Human Rights held a workshop on Monday discussing the stipulations of human rights protection and promotion in the nation’s newly revised Constitution. The participants agreed that the revised Constitution of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam that has been adopted by the National Assembly, clearly reflected the State’s progressive views on human rights. Stipulations on human rights are included in Chapter II of the Constitution. The participants stressed that stipulations on human rights are in line with international law and ensure both political and legal thoughts and constitutional content and techniques. The stipulations seek to dismiss fabrications and distortions and make the international community better understand the Vietnamese Party and State’s viewpoints and policy on human rights. They introduced several solutions to effectively exercise human rights emphasizing the need to fine-tune the legal system on human rights, strengthen the state apparatus and improve the capacity of state employees. They stressed the need to promote the communication on human rights and external relations.
