Yemen's Houthis, Iraqi Shiite militia launch joint attack on Israel

(VOVWORLD) -Houthi military spokesman Yahya Sarea said in a statement aired by Houthi-run al-Masirah TV on Tuesday that they, along with the Islamic Resistance in Iraq, had launched cruise missiles at "a vital target" in the Israeli city of Haifa and that the joint operation had achieved its goals.

He promised more attacks against Israel until Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip stop.

Since November last year the Houthis have been conducting drone and missile attacks against Israeli cities and ships in the Red Sea to show its solidarity with the Palestinians.

In response, a US-British naval coalition has been conducting air strikes and missile strikes on Houthi targets in Yemen, but has failed so far to deter the group from launching further attacks.
