Youth gratitude week

(VOVworld) –Youth all over the country are helping families of war invalids and martyrs, policy beneficiary families, and heroic Vietnamese mothers as part of a gratitude week that will mark the 65th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs' Day on July 27th. The Ha Tinh Provincial Youth Union has visited and presented gifts worth about 14 USD each to revolutionary contributors’ families and heroic Vietnamese mothers. Hải Việt is Head of the Committee for Communications and Education of the Provincial Youth Union:"Union members and young people will light candles at 7.30pm on the 26th at all 8 cemeteries of Ha Tinh province to pay tribute to Vietnam’s heroic martyrs. During this gratitude week, we will perform spring-cleaning at the cemeteries, present gifts, repair houses for beneficiary families, conduct pilgrimages, and distribute free medicine."

Meanwhile, the Quang Ninh Provincial Youth Union is organizing volunteer activities including cleaning and repairing cemeteries and visiting and presenting  nearly 1800 gifts to revolutionary contributors’ families. Quang Ninh youth will hold a ceremony to praise 65 descendants of war invalids and martyrs from the province. Hoàng Bá Nam, Secretary of the Quang Ninh Provincial Youth Union expressed his thoughts:"The activities are of great educational significance. They enable the youth to pay a debt of gratitude and gain an awareness of their political responsibilities to policy beneficiary families and families of people who have rendered great services to the nation. These activities involve the whole community with young people in the vanguard role."

The Youth Unions of other localities have organized trips to the Road No.9 Cemetery and the National Truong Son Martyrs' Cemetery to show the gratitude of young people to those who died for national liberation.
