(VOVWORLD) - The New Year atmosphere is felt everywhere in Vietnam. On major construction sites, workers are working hard to complete key national projects on schedule. Although they can’t celebrate Tet with their families, each of them is proud to contribute to national construction.

At the construction site of the Ring Road 3 project, the section running through Binh Chuan intersection in Thuan An city, Binh Duong province, 100 workers equipped with modern machinery are working day and night to ensure the project's progress.
Phan Van Em from Binh Dinh province said his family is very supportive of his decision to spend Tet at the construction site because they understand the importance of the project.
Em told VOV, “My family encouraged me to stay and focus on accomplishing the mission. As the company’s worker, I think I should stay because I’m needed to finish the project on schedule. And I’m being remunerated as I deserve.”
Nguyen Van Tuyen, another worker at the construction site, said the company aims to finish the project by May.
According to Tuyen, “The whole company and every team is trying to ensure the project’s progress. Once it’s completed and put into operation, this area will be very beautiful. I’m proud to have participated in the construction of this project.”

At the construction site of the Khanh Hoa-Buon Ma Thuot Expressway, the sound of machinery is continuous. Trucks are lined up to transport materials.
A worker named Le Van Huynh said, “All the workers are doing their utmost. We’ll keep working enthusiastically, even though Tet is here. We are all trying to meet the deadline.”
The Khanh Hoa-Buon Ma Thuot Expressway project has a total length of 116.5 km, most of which runs through Dak Lak province.
Dang Tho Dan, the project’s executive director, said, “1,000 workers are busy, using 500 pieces of equipment at 49 construction sites along the route. We keep reminding the units to abide by the labor laws and guarantee workers’ salaries and rights.”
The motto "three shifts, four shifts" is being followed at construction sites of the Vung Ang-Bung project, part of the North-South Expressway project.
According to Tran Hai Dang, Director of Package XL02, which passes through Quang Binh province, his unit will have 800 workers working around the clock throughout Tet.
“We’ve taken advantage of favorable weather and arranged three end-to-end shifts so that work can continue around the clock. We’ve divided into smaller teams to keep the work going. It’s wonderful to be with your family during Tet, but because of our mission, we’ve stayed at the construction site to try to conclude the country’s major projects,” said Dang.
The commitment to working through the holiday is felt even in provincial and city traffic projects.
Bui Xuan Cuong, Deputy Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, said that about 10 projects will be kept running during the holiday.
“Pursuant to the Prime Minister's appeal, we are accelerating construction of Ring Road 3, hoping to put the 15-kilometer elevated section connecting the Ho Chi Minh City-Long Thanh-Dau Giay Expressway and Long Thanh International Airport into operation this year. In addition, we’ll focus on new projects like the Can Gio international transit port,” Cuong noted.
Many construction workers nationwide will celebrate Tet at work. Instead of reuniting with their family members in the New Year, they are contributing to key national projects as Vietnam is poised to enter the new era of rise.
