(VOVworld) - The first meeting of the project ‘Establishing the network of cultural cities of the Forum for East Asia-Latin America Co-operation’ (FEALAC) took place in Hue on Friday under the presence of mayors and representatives from 16 member countries. The meeting was part of the ongoing Hue Festival.

The project aims to strengthen international cooperation at the local level among FEALAC members in culture, sports, tourism, and development through which to promote public awareness of the Forum.

The meeting focused on cultural heritage and sustainable development, conditions for admitting new members, and operating regulations for cultural cities under the FEALAC framework. These are the foundations for Hue to register for the network and contribute to its growth. It also shows Hue’s determination to promote its image as a city of culture, heritage, and environmental friendliness to members from East Asian and Latin American regions.
