Party and VFF officials pay Christmas visits to Catholics and Protestants

Senior Party officials and leaders of mass organizations visited and extended Christmas greetings to Catholic and Protestant communities across the country. During a visit to the Hai Phong city Bishops’ Office, Vice President and Secretary General of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF), Vu Trong Kim praised the fruitful relationship between the Office and local authorities as well as Catholics’ involvement in emulation movements. On Friday, Vice Secretary of the HCM city Party Committee Nguyen Van Dua visited the HCM City Archdiocese, the HCM City Committee for the Solidarity with Catholics and the Evangelical Church of Vietnam. Mr. Dua expressed the hope that Catholics and Protestants will continue to join hands with all strata of people to contribute to the development of the city and the country while practising their faith. Meeting with Can Tho city’s Catholic and Protestant dignitaries and followers, Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Tran Thanh Man asked them to respond actively to the national program on building new rural areas, thus contributing to socio-economic development and social law and order. Head of the An Hoi diocese Pham Cong Trong said: “We are delighted and greatly encouraged by the visits of local authorities. We promise to do all we can to contribute to national development.”
