(VOVworld) – The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment announced its strategy on the exploitation and use of marine resources and the protection of the marine environment until 2020 in Hanoi on Wednesday.

Vietnam is determined to preserve the quality of sea water and the marine ecosystem as part of its 2020 Marine Strategy for achieving sustainable growth. Director of the Institute of Strategy and Policy on Natural Resources and Environment Nguyen Van Tai said: “We should study and evaluate marine resources and potentials for seeking appropriate ways to exploit these resources while protecting the marine environment. A sea-based economy could contribute greatly to national development.”
