Launched by the Ho Chi Minh Youth Union, the summer programme runs from June to August, with July being the busiest month of the campaign.

Secretary of the Vietnam Youth Union, Nguyen Phi Long, addressed the function: “in this year’s program, we will further boost the movement involving young people in new rural development and coordinating with local Party and government administrations to fully tap the potential of the youth in the localities. Teams of young intellectuals have been set up to go to communes to help local peers in economic growth and young islanders in the provision of free check-ups and medicines.”

The campaign, the 15th of its kind, will focus on setting up volunteer teams to work in remote, border, and island areas.
