(VOVWORLD) - The Hanoi Run for Children 2018, an annual event calling for support for disadvantaged children with cancer and congenital heart diseases, took place at Thong Nhat Park Sunday.

The humanity event was co-organized by the Vietnam-Canada Friendship Association, the Canadian Embassy in Vietnam, political and social organizations, and businesses in Hanoi.
The President of the Vietnam-Canada Friendship Association said that as 2018 marks the 45th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Vietnam and Canada, the run tightened friendship between Vietnamese, Canadian and foreign people.
The Run and related activities have raised about 47,000 USD to help disadvantaged children with cancer and congenital heart diseases at the Vietnam National Children’s Hospital, the Hanoi Heart Hospital, and the heart surgery program of VinaCapital Foundation.
