Vietnam’s pandemic policy hailed

(VOVWORLD) -Efforts by the Vietnamese government and people to fight COVID-19 have earned praise from international media, who have said that although Vietnam is not the richest country in the region, it has become a role model for fighting the epidemic and other countries should learn from its experience.

Vietnam acted promptly and made quick decisions, according to the World Economic Forum.

WHO representative in Vietnam Dr. Ki Dong Park said the Vietnamese government was prepared for any circumstance and made important decisions at key moments.

Vietnam began adopting social distancing on April 1, despite a low infection rate, Russia's Sputnik radio said.

The ASEAN Post said the world can learn from Vietnam’s quick, firm measures to contain the epidemic.

International media have reiterated Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc’s advice to “Fight the epidemic like you were fighting an enemy”.

The British Financial Times said the advice was a call to the public to join the efforts of doctors, soldiers, and other front line warriors.

According to a survey by Dalia Research of a Berlin-based organization, Vietnamese people have the most confidence in their Government's response to the COVID-19 pandemic, an important factor in getting people to comply with government measures.

Project Syndicate said the key to Vietnam’s success so far has been decisive leadership, accurate information, and community solidarity that empowers people to protect themselves and each other.
