As the leading deep-water port cluster in Vietnam and Southeast Asia, it’s capable of receiving ships of up to 230,000 DWT.
The ports have upgraded the length and width of the wharf, invested in crane systems, forklifts and cargo handling equipment, which is necessary for a smart port.
Dinh The Anh, a representative of Gemalink International Port, Cai Mep-Thi Vai cluster, said: “Following the global markettrend, shipping lines are now gradually putting into operation larger sized ships than before. STS shore cranes are currently the main equipment in port operations, bringing in most of Gemalink’s revenue through port operations from shore to ship and vice versa.”
