The plan aims to position the marine economy as one of the key pillars of growth and a new driving force for the provincial development. Under the plan, Ca Mau targets an average GRDP growth rate of 10% or higher over the next five years. Marine-related economic sectors are expected to contribute between 40% and 45% of the provincial total budget revenue. Ca Mau is also stepping up efforts to develop renewable energy.
The province also aims to focus on environmental protection and biodiversity conservation. It will establish two marine protected areas, covering about 53,000 hectares and implement proactive solutions to adapt to climate change and sea level rise.
