Coast Guard delegation pay tribute to heroic martyrs who died in Southwest Sea
(VOVWORLD) -The Vietnam Coast Guard Command this week offered incense offering and released flowers to pay tribute to the heroic martyrs and compatriots who died in the Southwest Sea area.

This was part of their the inspection trip on illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing activities in the sea area bordering Vietnam, Malaysia, and Thailand.
The delegation offered incense at Tho Chau Temple, Tho Chau island commune, the memorial house of President Ho Chi Minh and the memorial commemorating the heroic martyrs who sacrificed their lives and more than 500 people who were massacred by Pol Pot troops in May 1975.
In the coastal area bordering Thailand and Malaysia, the delegation held a memorial ceremony and released flowers to pay tribute to the souls of the soldiers and fishermen who heroically sacrificed their lives to protect the coast of the Fatherland.

The Coast Guard Command delegation also presented gifts to officers, soldiers, and local people, and offered flowers to commemorate the heroic martyrs at Hang Duong cemetery, Con Dao district.
Colonel Bui Dai Hai, Deputy Chief of Political Affairs of the Vietnam Coast Guard, said, “During the year-end trips, in addition to inspecting IUU fishing, we organized flower and incense offering ceremonies for heroic martyrs and fishermen who sacrificed their lives in the country's waters. This is an activity of remembering the source of water we drink and educating all officers and soldiers of Vietnam Coast Guard.”
