Vietnam has great potential to develop its marine economy
(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam has potentials and advantages to develop its marine economy, but its marine economic development needs to be closely linked with social development and environmental protection.

At the workshop on developing a blue marine economy held early this month in Hanoi by the Party Central Committee's Commission for Communications and Education, experts and scientists called for strategic measures, innovative thinking, and a legal and policy framework to develop the economy while protecting the environment.
Mr. Phan Xuan Thuy, deputy head of the Party Central Committee's Commission for Communications and Education, said: “To make Vietnam a strong country at sea and rich from the sea and assure sustainable development, prosperity, and security, we need innovative, breakthrough thinking in line with the global trend toward a sustainable, blue marine economy.”
