Bach Mai, Vietnam-Germany hospital inaugurated in Ha Nam

(VOVWORLD) - Branches of Bach Mai and Vietnam-Germany hospital were recently inaugurated in Phu Ly city, Ha Nam province. People with serious illness in Vietnam’s northern provinces will no longer have to travel to a central hospital for treatment.

The new Bach Mai hospital has 1,000 beds and is capable of treating 5,000 patients a day. The general hospital offers treatment for serious cardiovascular, cancer, and respiratory diseases. 

Built on an area of 125,000 square meters, the new facility of Vietnam-Germany Friendship Hospital is designed to be a surgical center with 1,000 beds, capable of providing treatment for bone, skull, brain, head, neck, chest, and spine injuries, and cardiovascular surgery.

Built at a cost of 235 million USD each, these two modern hospitals have a patient-friendly design that creates comfort and has a positive effect on a patient's recovery time.

Minister of Health Nguyen Thi Kim Tien says that the two new facilities will ease the current overload at the Vietnam-Germany Friendship and Bach Mai Hospitals, and improve medical care for patients in the region. The new hospitals will provide high-quality medical services, technology transfer, and human resource training.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam said the two hospitals are among five new modern hospitals to be built under Prime Minister-approved projects aimed at easing the burden on major hospitals in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
