(VOVworld)- With numerous historical and cultural relics and beautiful landscapes, Vietnam’s northern provinces Cao Bang, Bac Kan, Ha Giang, Tuyen Quang, Lang Son and Thai Nguyen have great tourism potential. Hanoi travel companies often cooperate with partners in these localities to promote their tourism products.

Many travel companies have developed tours of such northern attractions as the Dinh Hoa Safety Zone in Thai Nguyen, the Tan Trao War Resistance Capital in Tuyen Quang, the Pac Po relic site in Cao Bang, Ba Be lake in Bac Kan, and Ban Gioc waterfall in Cao Bang.  Nguyen Hong Dai is Director of the Asia Pacific Tourism Company and Head of the Capital Tourism Club: “Tours of northern provinces usually take 3 to 4 days. Vietnamese and foreign tourists are interested in visiting the 6 provinces north of Hanoi to compare their landscapes, cultures and customs. Vietnamese tourists particularly want to visit historical relic sites and the place where President Ho Chi Minh lived and work during the resistance war against the French”.

Community tourism is of particular interest to foreign tourists. APT Travel Company and other companies in the Capital Tourism Club cooperate with local enterprises in the northern provinces to promote community tourism. Mr. Nguyen Hong Dai said:“It’s easy to organize community tours. Foreign tourists want to stay in local people’s houses to talk with them and learn their culture. We have selected some local families and showed them how to accommodate foreign visitors. Community tours are specially tourist products at reasonable prices. We have worked with local people in Bac Kan,at Ba Be lake in Cao Bang and in certain localities around Ha Giang city”.

Hanoi travel companies have expanded their advertising of northern tours and have created a tour supply chain in which suppliers have to meet certain criteria in terms of quality, price and heritage preservation.
