Hai Phong makes giant leap in administrative reforms

(VOVworld)-The northern port city of Hai Phong has made 2016 a year of improving its business climate, focusing on administrative reforms.

Hai Phong has ranked 2nd among Vietnam’s 63 cities and provinces in the Administrative Reform Index over the past 3 years. The “one-door’ model has been applied in all Hai Phong’s administrative agencies at all levels.
“We are trying to build an administration that serves the people and businesses through administrative reforms. We are renewing ourselves to attract investment”, said Vice Chairman of the Hai Phong People’s Committee Nguyen Xuan Binh.

In addition to the “one-door” model, e-government has been deployed in Hong Bang and Ngo Quyen district.
“This model is warmly welcomed as it saves people’s time and money, and eases pressure on government employees”, Mac Nhu Ban of Ngo Quyen district’s People’s Committee told VOV.
Since September, local authorities have been hosting a dialogue with representatives of the business community on the 10th of every month.
“After each dialogue, relevant agencies are required to take immediate measures to address business concerns. This effort is led by a Vice Chairman of the city’s People’s Committee”, said Vice Chairman of the Hai Phong People’s Committee, Le Thanh Son.
Hai Phong recently inaugurated a center for investment, trade and tourism promotion, which serves as a single venue for dealing with all administrative procedures.
