The fourth HANIFF will include contests, a HANIFF campus, a film project market, conferences, and exhibitions. There will be workshops on cooperation in film making among ASEAN member countries and on Indian cinema’s development and cooperation. The most notable event will be an outdoor film screening and a Vietnam-Italy fashion show at August Revolution Square for 3 nights from November 2 to November 4. Ngo Phuong Lan, Director of the Department of Cinematography and Head of the Organizing Board, said: “At previous festivals, films were selected from within the Asia-Pacific region, but this year entries are from all over the world. Changes have been made. There will be no film screening at the opening ceremony, for example. Instead we will have a more diverse program.”

The Hanoi Film Festival is organised every 2 years by the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism. It provides young film makers an opportunity to work with professional film makers to develop their projects. It also  honours excellence in films and promotes cooperation in film making.
