Communications on sea and island in 28 coastal provinces and cities
(VOVWORLD) - The Party Central Committee’s Communication and Education Commission on Thursday coordinated with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, and the Navy Command, holding a conference on sea and island communication in 28 coastal cities and provinces.

This conference aims to strengthen Vietnam’s commitment to protecting and managing its maritime territories.
Deputy Head of the Party Central Committee’s Communication and Education Commission, Vu Thanh Mai, emphasized that Vietnam's seas and islands hold sacred significance and play a crucial role in national development, defense, and security. He noted that raising public awareness about the strategic importance of seas and islands is an ongoing responsibility of the entire political system.
During the conference, participants discussed the importance of diplomatic efforts to safeguard Vietnam’s maritime sovereignty, progress in combating illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing, and recent developments in the East Sea.
