Hue Festival 2022 full of cultural colors

(VOVWORLD) - The Hue festival 2022 has been a national cultural tourism event since it was first launched 22 years ago. The festival, which runs from June 25 to June 30 with the theme “Cultural heritage with integration and development”, drew artists from 7 countries as well as 400 Vietnamese artists.

This year, the Hue festival will continue year around but its highlight will be from June 25 to June 30. It will give attention a taste of culture, history, and the arts through multiple stage performances around the central province.

Nguyen Thanh Binh, Vice Chairman of the Thua Thien-Hue provincial People’s Committee, said: "The Hue Festival 2022 will feature art performances by 20 art troupes from Vietnam and other countries embracing traditional and contemporary cultural value. The festival’s aim is to present traditional values in a new way and embody the convergence of regional and national cultural identity and exchanges of culture. By centering on people, the festival will empower the locals and visitors to act as both as hosts and as creators."

One of the main activities at the festival, the street carnival will honor the cultural values of Vietnam and other countries. With the theme “Colors of Cultures”, the event will introduce unique music and dance performed by art troupes from eight countries including the Hue Dragon-Lion-Unicorn Dance troupe, the Lao Cai traditional art troupe, the Dak Lak folk dance troupe, and the Vietnam Circus Federation.

Y Co Nie, Deputy Head of the Dak Lak Folk Dance troupe, said their performance will embody Vietnam’s highland culture. He said: "The 45 artists of the Dak Lak troupe will represent central highlands culture at the street carnival and in our own stage shows. We are very excited and happy to introduce our culture to other people."
