National Solidarity Festival held nationwide

The National Solidarity Festival is taking place nationwide with jubilant decorations, festive activities, and art performances. Attending the event in Dien Bien ward, Hanoi, President Nguyen Xuan Phuc said upholding national unity is the strategy of the Vietnamese revolution and Vietnam considers national unity the root of all successes and victories.

President Nguyen Xuan Phuc said: “Party Committees, local administrations, the Fatherland Front, and social organizations need to stay close to the people to learn their aspirations and wishes and issues concerning their legitimate rights and interests and make recommendations to address those issues. It’s also important to pay attention to people’s happiness, equality, and social advances.”

After a two-year hiatus due to COVID-19, Party members and other people in Muong Sang commune, Moc Chau district, Son La province, gathered to celebrate the National Solidarity Festival.

Ha Van Ben, a resident of Na Bo village, said: “It has been a long time since I last attended such a festival. We are now recovering from the pandemic. Everybody is happy, proud, and energetic. The National Solidarity Festival in Muong Sang is very exciting and crowded this year.”

Attending the festival in Cu Prao commune, M’drak district, Mr. Y Bier Nie, Deputy Secretary of the Dak Lak provincial Party Committee, said local villages are organizing several cultural activities and art performances featuring traditional cultures and customs of local ethnic minority people.

He said: “The festival aims to encourage local people to bring into play their cultural identities and learn from one another. We also communicate new policies by integrating them into cultural activities to raise public awareness and enhance unity in national development.”

Unity promoted in national development

The National Solidarity Day is an occasion to strengthen national unity and honor beautiful traditional values in national construction and development. At the festival, unique cultural features of ethnic groups are promoted, while the community's spirit of solidarity, attachment, mutual affection, and assistance is upheld.

Organizing the National Solidarity Festival in residential areas has contributed to improving the people's material and spiritual life. Many residential areas have created ways to help each other, such as production restructuring, job expansion and generation, setting up agricultural, forestry and fishery extension groups, accelerating technology application, and implementing credit programs and cultivation and livestock production support programs.

Activities held during the festival are also aimed at promoting people’s right to mastery, enhancing democracy at the grassroots level, creating a friendlier environment, and tightening the bond between the Party and the people. The festival is affirming its important role in strengthening national unity and creating a strong momentum to achieve the goal of a rich people, a strong country, democracy, equality, and civilization.
