Outstanding youth union members honored

(VOVWORLD) - The Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union held a ceremony last week to honor 10 outstanding members who have shown excellent performance in their work, study, or scientific research.

Captain Pham Van Dan, Head of the Criminal Police Office of Hai Duong province, was honored for his achievements in solving several criminal cases.  Pham Huy, a 12th grader, had a project on providing robot hands for the disabled. Doctor Vu Bich Ngoc is one of Vietnam’s leading researchers on the application of stem cells. Vu Van Binh is an idea man of the Viettel. Binh talks about his achievements: “We should be ready to take on hard jobs to bring into play our capacity and capability. We need to patiently pursue our goals and find ways to implement those missions. Creativity is also important for your success.”

Le Quoc Phong is First Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union: “Outstanding Youth Union members are honored for their innovative startup ideas which are not only realized in Vietnam but also overseas. The award will inspire other young Vietnamese people to start business and contribute to national development. “

Former Deputy Prime Minister Vu Khoan spoke at the event: “We hope the 10 honorees will inspire other youngsters to strive forward, contribute to national development, and boost Vietnam’s prestige in the world. I believe these young people will continue their success.”

More than 200 youngsters have been honored by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union in the past 22 years.
