The 6th Plenum of the 13th Party Central Committee reviewed Vietnam’s socio-economic development in 2022, set out orientations for the remaining months of this year and next year, and discussed the National Master Plan for the 2021-2030 period with a Vision to 2050, and national industrialization and modernization by 2030 with a Vision to 2045. This agenda has provided cadres, Party members, and the public an overview of the Party and State vision for future national development.

Mr. Nguyen Duy Quy, former Secretary of the Binh Dinh provincial Party Committee, said the National Master Plan lays out Vietnam’s strategic vision for national development.

Mr. Quy said: "Our country has great development potential which has not been fully tapped. The Party Central Committee discussed ways to strengthen links between regions and sectors and set out orientations for infrastructure development and targets and goals to make Vietnam a modern industrial nation."

Nguyen Quang Huan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Halcom Vietnam JSC, said promoting industrialization and modernization in the current period must take advantage of the 4th Industrial Revolution.

Mr. Huan said: "In his speech, the Party General Secretary stressed the need to focus on restructuring development by promoting innovation, restructuring the economy, and strengthening industrialization and modernization in order to realize set targets."
"Without taking advantage of the 4th Industrial Revolution, we cannot improve productivity. Our GDP growth is high but our productivity growth is not high, only 4-5%. In the coming period, we need to increase productivity 7,8,9 or even 10% to ensure sustainable growth. To increase productivity, we can only depend on strengthened industrialization and modernization," Huan added.

Nguyen Hoang Phuong, a Party member in Dong Hoi city, Quang Binh province, praised the 6th Plenum’s consensus on reforming the Party leadership saying it’s very important to Party building and rectification.

"At the Plenum, the Party Central Committee discussed several measures to reform and improve the Party leadership. The Party Central Committee agreed on principles and ensured clear delegation of authority to each and every level. Reforming the Party leadership must aim at upholding the power, responsibility, principles and discipline of the Party,' said Mr. Phuong.

Doan Minh Long, President of the Journalists Association of Khanh Hoa province stressed the importance of the Party Resolution on continuing to build and perfect the law-governed socialist State of Vietnam in the new period which was adopted at the 6th Plenum.

Mr. Long said: "The resolution reflects the Party’s consistency in pursuing the goals of national independence, socialism, and enhancing Party leadership. The Party Central Committee adopted this resolution to continue to build, perfect and better organize the law-governed State. Once the law is in place, the public must strictly abide by it. It’s certain that human rights, freedom, democracy and social protection will be ensured at a higher, more sustainable level."

Orientations set at the Party’s 6th Plenum are being implemented by cadres, Party members and the public nationwide. Consensus and unity are the prerequisites for rapid, sustainable national development and making Vietnam a high-income, developed country with a socialist orientation by 2045 as set out in the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress.
