(VOVWORLD) - The “Social for Good Vietnam” program is part of Facebook’s campaign “For Vietnam in 2020”. Last Friday Facebook Vietnam and the Vietnam Red Cross Society co-organized a livestream called “Defeating Covid-19 together” to call on the public to support medical staff and anyone affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

MC Quyen Linh and MC Sam hosted the livestream from their homes. A number of celebrities participated in the event to talk about Covid-19-related issues and share inspirational messages.  They expressed their opinions on building a civilized and humane society. Using the hashtag #SocialForGoodVN, Facebook launched a Stay At Home challenge dubbed hashtag #ỞNhàLàNhất that encourages users to share their creative tips for making stay-at-home time more fun and productive.

Doctor Tran Quoc Hung, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Red Cross Society, said the Society wants people to stay home and stay safe. He said: “With this epidemic still spreading, let’s all work together with the Vietnam Red Cross Society and Facebook to contain the spread by staying home, staying safe and creative, and joining online activities to support your community, your family, and yourself. Social networks like Facebook will update information and connect people. We should regularly update and share information from official sources.”

MC Quyền Linh, MC Sam, and various Vietnamese artists have raised a fund for the program. All donations will be sent to the Vietnam Red Cross Society to support medical staff and people infected with Covid-19.

MC Quyền Linh said: “Social distancing is very important in containing the epidemic. During the livestream, we called on people to donate to the fund managed by the Vietnam Red Cross Society.”

The livestream had 12,000 views and numerous comments sharing the public awareness about disease prevention.
