(VOVworld)- Ho Chi Minh City’s annual spring flower festival opened at Tao Dan Park, District 1 on Sunday to welcome the Traditional Lunar New Year (Tet). Similar events are taking place in other cities and provinces, creating a spring atmosphere.

Yellow apricot flowers, orchids, ornamental flowers and bonsai are showcased at the spring flower festival in HCM City. The 12-day event will include a flower arrangement competition, unicorn dances, calligraphy displays, and tea drinking ceremonies. Tran Thi Phuong Hoa is a festival goer: “This year, order at the festival is ensured. The decoration is beautiful encouraging us to take photos. I hope our city will develop further so that everyone can have a happier Tet.”

This year, a wide range of flowers are offered at flower markets in Son La province. Lo Van Thien, a flower farmer in Son La city, said his family prepared sufficient flowers to serve customers inside and outside the province: “We have to calculate the time to have flowers blossom right at Tet using lighting techniques. All these flowers are for Tet.”

A flower lane called “Festive Central Highlands” is set up at the Dai Doan Ket (Great Unity) square in Pleiku city, Gia Lai province. Nguyen Hoang Quang Minh is Deputy Head of the Urban Management Department of Pleiku Provincial People’s Committee: “The flower lane will be a destination for both locals and visitors during Tet. It will continue for at least 10 days after Tet.”
