With the theme “Rising-Thriving,” VinFuture Sci-Tech Week 2025, highlighted by the VinFuture Prize Award Ceremony, marks its fifth year in Vietnam. This annual event connects global knowledge, nurtures aspirations, and elevates Vietnam’s profile as a promoter of science, innovation, and creativity.

A meeting place of ideas

Gathering hundreds of distinguished scientists, including Nobel, Fields, and Turing laureates, and innovators and leaders from the world’s foremost technology organizations, VinFuture Sci-Tech Week connects scientists with global challenges and academic research with practical applications.

The week’s activities will include discussions with leading scientists and stories of passion and dedication that provide motivation for young Vietnamese intellectuals.

Professor Phan Manh Huong, Director of the Center for Innovation and Materials Technology at VinFuture University, said: “Through these programs, young Vietnamese people learn about science and technology and get the chance to meet scientists from around the world. The benefit is immeasurable, with Vietnam now implementing Resolution 57.”

Through events like VinFuture, Vietnam is becoming a starting point for new ideas and groundbreaking projects with far-reaching impact. That Vietnam was chosen as a place for leading scientists to discuss the future of science reflects the fact that it has been building a conducive environment for creativity, research, and international collaboration.

Dr. Filippo Giorgi, member of the VinFuture Prize Council, said he was impressed with young Vietnamese scientists as they're eager to learn and possess an advanced scientific and technological way of thinking, sometimes even more progressive than in Europe.

Science and technology are being placed at the center of development

Successfully hosting VinFuture for five years reflects Vietnam’s strategic vision of making science and technology the foundation of development, and sends the message that Vietnam is ready to play an active role in shaping the shared future of humanity.

At the 2024 VinFuture Award Ceremony, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said: “The VinFuture Prize inspires and promotes global cooperation, generating innovative ideas to address major global challenges. This aligns with Vietnam’s development strategy, in which science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation are identified as the pillars of rapid, sustainable national progress.”

This global-scale event aims to honor outstanding scientific achievements and inspire a forward-looking spirit, one that Vietnam persistently pursues in its development strategy. When the world’s top scientists gather in Hanoi, they bring knowledge, experience, and global perspectives and generate new connections, collaborations, and opportunities for to advance. Promoting science will help Vietnam become a regional center of the innovation ecosystem.

Dr. Le Thai Ha, Executive Director of the VinFuture Foundation, said: “VinFuture proves that science has no borders. What makes VinFuture special is its academic value and its message that intelligence from anywhere can make a global impact. If one day a young scientist from any corner of the world sees this and believes they, too, can make a meaningful contribution, that would be VinFuture’s great success and Vietnam’s pride.”

VinFuture is a consequence of Vietnam placing science and technology at the heart of its development model and of its efforts to build institutional foundations, attract high-quality talent, encourage research and development, and create an environment where global knowledge can meet, grow, and spread.

VinFuture Sci-Tech Week 2025 positions Vietnam as a global hub of knowledge, opening a long-term vision of a nation driven by ambition, innovation, and responsibility.
