This year’s VinFuture Prize has a record number of official nominating partners – 14,772, more than twelve times the 1,200 nominating partners in the prize’s first year. This year sees broader participation from scientists around the world. The Americas account for the largest share (31%), followed by Europe, Asia, Africa, and Oceania.
Nearly half of nominating partners are experts from leading universities and research institutes worldwide, including the US’s Harvard University, Stanford University, and Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the UK’s University of Cambridge and University of Oxford, Australia’s University of Melbourne, Canada’s University of Toronto, and the National University of Singapore. 1,395 (9.4%) of the nominating partners are in the world’s top 2% of most-cited researchers, according to Stanford University rankings.
Nominations span the fields that support human life and sustainable development. The largest number are from medicine and healthcare, followed by energy, transportation and construction, environment and earth sciences, agriculture, and food systems. These critical areas reflect global science and technology trends and attract universal interest.
VinFuture’s nominating partners play a prominent role in identifying and introducing groundbreaking scientific achievements deserving recognition. They spotlight innovations that have a positive impact on humanity and broaden awareness of the VinFuture Prize within the international scientific community.
For that reason, nominating partners are considered an indispensable part of the prize’s success. Dr. Le Thai Ha, Executive Director of the VinFuture Foundation, said: "The 2025 VinFuture Nominator Recognition Program dedicated to honor nominators who help identify groundbreaking scientific achievements. The five outstanding nominators will be selected for an experience at the VinFuture Scientific and with all the costs covered by the VinFuture foundations. They will attend the 2025 VinFuture Prize award ceremony, participate as a distinguished guest, or even speaker in the symposium, and engage with our prize laureate, the Prize Council, Green Screen Committee, and the Vietnamese researcher to force the scientific exchange and collaborations."
With its rising prestige and expanding global reach, the VinFuture Prize continues to affirm its role as a bridge for global knowledge that brings breakthrough innovations to real-world application and inspires hope for a sustainable future for humanity.
