Under the resolution, depending on the duration of their unemployment insurance payments, employees will receive from 70 USD to 145 USD from the 1.3 billion USD from the fund. At a time when workers have been seriously affected by the pandemic, this aid package is a great help.

Nguyen Kim Nhung of Tay Ho district works for a travel company but has been laid off due to the pandemic. Nhung said, 'Because of the pandemic, our company went bankrupt for more than a year and the life has been very difficult. This aid package is a source of great encouragement for us.'

Employers who usually pay 1% of their employee’s unemployment insurance will not have to pay unemployment insurance for 12 months - until September 3 next year. Le Thanh Thuy, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Director of Vinh Yen Paper JSC said: "A slice of bread when hungry is worth a whole loaf when full." Amid numerous difficulties, even one dong can help business and their employees reduce difficulties. It’s time for the Unemployment Insurance Fund to prove its efficacy.”

The government resolution is making sure unemployment insurance is a support channel for employers and employees in difficulty. Pandemic-hit workers began to receive support on October 1. The Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs will direct the delivery of support to ensure its effectiveness and transparency.
