Vinh Long to host first Red Ceramic Brick– Green Economy Festival

(VOVWORLD) - The first-ever Red Ceramic Brick–Green Economy Festival will be held in Vinh Long province from November 16 to 23. This week-long festival, organized on a regional scale, will bring together participants from the Mekong Delta, Ho Chi Minh City, and several central and northern provinces.

The festival is an opportunity for Vinh Long to promote the potential and advantages of Mang Thít, a craft village in the Mekong Delta famous for its red ceramic bricks. The event will also be an opportunity for participants to showcase achievements, strengths, and resources in multiple sectors, seek investors, strengthen regional links, and expand domestic and international markets.

Phan Van Giau, Director of Vinh Long's Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said: "The  festival aims to preserve the local traditional craft village, once a hallmark of Vinh Long with products available throughout the Mekong Delta. We also aim to highlight the heritage value of this centuries-old craft village.”

Festival activities will include trade, industry, agriculture, and tourism expos with 700-800 booths, workshops on the green economy and sustainable development, tourism promotion programs, and demonstrations of ceramic brick production.

There will be reenactments of local traditional customs and a display of 102 dishes made of soybean, which is expected to set a Vietnam Record.

Doan Thi Ngoc Diep, Head of the Vinh Long Ceramic Brick Association, said: “Our association will work closely with local businesses and artisans to promote Vinh Long’s red ceramic brick brand. We’re arranging venues where visitors can try their hand at making ceramic bricks or tour a fruit orchard or farm.”

The Red Ceramic Brick Festival of Vinh Long promises an authentic engagement with Vinh Long’s cultural heritage and a unique glimpse into the “Mang Thit Red Kingdom”.
