The festival, which will run until the end of October, features the "Bac Son Ultra Trail 2024," rice harvesting competitions using rudimentary tools, rice pounding, and black square sticky rice cake wrapping.

Visitors can also see how yin-yang tiles are made, explore ethnic minority health remedies that use local medicinal plants, and go paragliding or rafting in the scenic golden valley.

The festival showcases local products, offering visitors a chance to engage with Bac Son's agricultural and craft heritage. There will be nostalgic displays called "Childhood Memories" and "Ancient Space," as well as booths displaying the traditional farm tools used by local ethnic communities.

Nguyen Thi Tuyet, a visitor from Thai Nguyen province, said: "This is my first time visiting Bac Son and attending the festival. I’m impressed by how the district has preserved its cultural identity. Local specialties like black square sticky rice and gio cakes are festival highlights."

Bac Son, part of the Lang Son Geopark, boasts outstanding heritages, beautiful landscapes, historical and cultural relic sites, and special tourism products. The festival is part of the province’s campaign to attract more visitors.

Duong Thi Thep, Vice Chairwoman of the Bac Son district People's Committee, said: "In the near future, we’ll continue to implement the district’s tourism project and further promote Bac Son’s image to people in other localities. On October 25 we’ll have an event to introduce Bac Son at the Hoan Kiem Lake walking area in Hanoi."

This is the second year Bac Son district has held the Yellow Season Festival.
