Bau Trang: A white sand paradise in Lam Dong

(VOVWORLD) - Endless white sand slopes shimmering under golden sunlight make Bau Trang an excellent place for camel rides, off-road motorbiking, and dressing up in nomadic costumes for memorable photo shoots. The destination, referred to by tourists as the "miniature desert" in Lam Dong province, is fast becoming a favorite for both domestic and international travelers.

Arriving at Bau Trang, visitors are greeted by expansive white sand dunes, brilliant sunshine, and the wind sweeping across the sand. At U&Me tourist site, visitors will experience a 15-minute camel ride on the sand dunes and take photos. There will be staff to guide you on how to ride safely and pose for the best photos. Visitors leisurely ride camels across the sand slopes, evoking images of movie scenes in the desert.

Marina, a Russian tourist, said: “Riding a camel is quite similar to riding a horse, but slower and fluffier. They are very lovely animals.”

Camel riding is not limited by age. With just a little courage, anyone can try this fun activity. Thai An, a 12-year-old, said: “It was my first time riding a camel. At first, I was a bit scared because it felt unfamiliar. But after a while, I really enjoyed it, especially when I got to wear cowboy-style outfits in the desert.”

Bau Trang tourist site offers costume rental services. Visitors dress in capes and headscarves to pose for photos, resembling a movie setting on the sand dunes. Vu Tuyet Minh, a tourist from Hanoi, said: “It’s impressive. These sand dunes look like a miniature Sahara Desert. I rented nomadic-style costumes to wear whilst we rode camels. The outfits are really perfect for photos in this scenery, I took lots of great pictures at Bau Trang.”

Riding a motorbike across the sand dunes is also an exciting adventure. The roar of the engines, wheels kicking up clouds of sand, steep climbs and sharp turns, all bring a sense of thrill and exhilaration to many visitors.

Tourist Le Ngoc Diep said: “Riding a sand motorbike is extremely refreshing. Riding across the vast sand dunes is really thrilling. I will definitely return here again with my friends.”

Dac Khiem, Director of Bau Trang U&Me tourist site, said: “Here, tourists can experience ATV rides up the dunes, such as a jeep or off-road trucks, enjoy local specialties, and ride camels. They have to wear helmets as we always prioritize safety for our guests.”

Bau Trang has become a highlight on Vietnam’s tourism map, leaving visitors with a lasting impression.
