Sea festival livens Ba Ria-Vung Tau province

(VOVWORLD) - A Sea festival, themed “Aspiration, Love and Sea” wrapped up in Vung Tau city on Monday, promoting Ba Ria-Vung Tau province’s tourism and trade potential.
The week-long festival involved 28 cities and provinces and nearly 400 domestic enterprises. The calligraphy center displayed more than 300 paintings with handwriting of stories, proverbs, idioms, and verses about love for the sea. Artist Tran Thanh Hien of the Calligraphy Club of Ba Ria-Vung Tau province said: "Through their works, artists express their wish that fishermen will have a bumper catch and enjoy favorable weather, and pray for peace for the people and the nation.”
During the festival, activities to promote the marine economy, trade and attract investment were held. A parade of classic Vespa scooters, a performance of Vietnamese traditional long dress and sea costume, a culinary contest, and a carnival drew a crowd of visitors. Dang Dinh Tham is a tourist from Dong Nai province: "The festival is very interesting. It showcases local special ties which are new and healthy. Many agricultural products were made within Viet GAP standards.”

Located in the key economic section in southern Vietnam, Ba Ria-Vung Tau province enjoys advantages that help develop the marine economy and tourism. The province has implemented several programs in response to the National Strategy on Vietnam’s Tourism Development until 2020 and Vision 2030. Over the past few years, the province has upgraded its tourism infrastructure, strengthened the tourism network, improved the human resource, and created a civilized, friendly, and safe environment for investors, while promoting tourism inside and outside Vietnam. The Sea Festival 2018 is part of the province’s effort to promote the local image, strength, and potential, said Nguyen Van Trinh, Chairman of the Ba Ria-Vung Tau Provincial People’s Committee: "The festival aims to develop tourism into a spearhead economic sector by 2020 and create momentum for the province’s socio-economic development. The festival introduced our achievements and potential for marine tourism, increased the province’s cooperation with other localities in Vietnam and with foreign partners.”
