Bang began working with local organizations 20 years ago after retiring. In every role, she is enthusiastic, responsible, and a leader in completing tasks and supporting charity. She has encouraged Red Cross members, local benefactors, and philanthropists to donate to the Cow Bank, a charity program that promotes poverty reduction in disadvantaged districts and communes nationwide. She personally contributes 110 USD annually to the program.

She sponsored a child who lost a leg in a traffic accident in Vinh Phuc. Along with union members, she helped a poor family in Dan Phuong district, Hanoi, by donating 2 breeding cows worth 1,250 USD, including a personal contribution of 208 USD. She also encouraged Red Cross volunteers and local philanthropists in Khuong Mai ward to give money and gifts to families in need, orphans, people with disabilities, and Agent Orange victims. Additionally, she participated in volunteer activities in Ha Giang and Cao Bang provinces.

To raise more money for charity, Bang collects scrap and paper every weekend to sell. This idea has spread in the community, with Red Cross chapters in Khuong Mai ward adopting it. The funds raised are used to provide free meals to hospitals in Hanoi and give Tet gifts to patients. Bang believes in doing everything with all her heart, finding joy and happiness in helping those in difficult circumstances.

Ms. Do Thi Bang has made positive contributions to social activities, helping spread the "Good People, Good Deeds" movement and setting a strong example for her family and others. Over the years, she has received many awards, including the "Good People, Good Deeds" title from Hanoi’s War Veterans Association in 2019, recognition as a city-level Red Cross family, and numerous Certificates of Merit for her outstanding work with the Red Cross at local and national levels.
